Past Events

Our Well-being Officer has been in discussions with different university institutions to try and better point people to existing programmes as well as try to create stronger mentoring and support networks focused on the PhD community. We’ve running regular Yoga destress events and occasional Drawing for Enjoyment workshop. One of the major ways we think we can support PhD well-being is by creating and helping PhD researchers find a community and support network here at the university.

Pillar Goals

  • Normalise discussion around the impact PhD's have on future researchers' well-being,

  • Start challenging the culture that over-working yourself is a badge of honour and a necessary part of the PhD process.

  • Creating a community is essential for our well-being.

  • Creating a network of support for students to feel empowered by the process of doing research.
