On this page you will find all of the information you need to know about our election process for the incoming 2021 - 2022 executive board team. Please continue below to learn more about the positions that are open for election as well as view more details about the application and the election processes. Important Dates:

Applications Open:  Tuesday, July 13th

Election Q&A:  Wednesday, July 21st (6PM)

Applications Close:  Monday, July 26th (midnight)

Annual General Meeting:  Tuesday, July 27th (6PM)

Voting Opens:  Tuesday, July 27th

Voting Closes: Tuesday, August 3rd (midnight)

Winners Announced:  Wednesday, August 4th

Executive Council Positions

President

  • gives general direction of the Society

  • liaises with external organisations on behalf of the Society, following the mandate received by the board 

  • supports and motivates board members

Vice-

President

  • looks after wellbeing of board members and Society members

  • acts as mediator in conflicts or disputes among board members

  • organises board member trainings 

Secretary

  • organises board meetings

  • manages Society's email account

  • facilitates communication and information exchange across Council members and Leaders

  • responsible for SRC affiliation

  • trains Committee Secretaries

  • general administrative duties  

Treasurer

  • manages the Society's finances

  • applies for grants and other funding on the Society's behalf

  • organises fundraising events and initiatives 

Leader Positions

Advocacy

Officer

  • leads the Advocacy Committee  

          â—‹ sets goals for the committee 

          â—‹ ensures that projects receive appropriate support 

  • creates a safe environment for all Society members 

  • supports the projects of the Disability Officers that relate to career, including helping them recruit help among current Committee members or by putting out a recruitment call 

  • communicates timely with the Council 

Career

Officer

  • leads the Career Committee 

          â—‹ sets goals for the committee 

          â—‹ ensures that projects receive appropriate support 

  • creates a safe environment for all Society members 

  • supports the projects of the Disability Officers that relate to career, including helping them recruit help among current Committee members or by putting out a recruitment call 

  • communicates timely with the Council 

Disability

Officer

  • ensures the Society is compliant with the Equality Act 2010 

  • supports the Government's Disability Confident Scheme 2016 to champion the agenda of making disability visible and represented 

  • promotes projects and recruits aid through the appropriate Committee 

Marketing

Officer

  • in charge of newsletter 

  • maintains website  

  • trains Committee Marketing Officers

  • prime handler of all social media accounts 

PGR

Experience

Officer

  • leads the PGR Experience Committee

           â—‹ sets goals for the committee 

           â—‹ ensures projects receive appropriate support 

  • creates a safe environment for all Society members 

  • supports the projects of the Disability Officers that relate to PGR experience, including helping them recruit help among current Committee members or by putting out a recruitment call 

  • communicates timely with the Council 

Social

Officer

  • leads the Social Committee 

          â—‹ sets goals for the committee 

          â—‹ ensures projects receive appropriate support 

  • creates a safe environment for all Society members 

  • supports the projects of the Disability Officers that relate to PGR experience, including helping them recruit help among current Committee members or by putting out a recruitment call 

  • communicates timely with the Council
